The Burkemper's Visit

Laura and Carter had a visit from the Burkempers last weekend. Amy's sister Becky and her children Elizabeth, Nick, Grace and Jacob, made a quick visit last weekend. It was a lot of fun, but we wish they could have stayed longer!

Laura Co-hosts 4-H Recognition Night

On January 16th, Laura co-hosted 4-H recognition night and earned medals for sheep, leadership, arts and crafts, and cat care. She also earned a 1st year Junior Leaders pin, 4th year 4-H pin and won a scholarship to the state 4-H teen conference. Of course, mom and dad were proud!

New Bedroom

We flipped the old trophy room over Christmas break into a new bedroom for Laura. Carter will take over her old room which is currently under construction. (pics to follow) Thought we would share a few pics before it gets so messy you cannot walk through it!

4-H Project

Laura is currently working on a wildlife related 4-H project. She is exploring the innate ability of wildlife to select high energy foods by offering different kinds of grains and seeds during times of stress. The negative temperatures provide perfect conditions for the project. Deer are really pressed for food right now so they are more than willing to play along and cooperate. (Despite their distrust of the signs.)

Baby Crack!

Aunt Mary Kay and Chris recently handed down the families prized "Baby Mozart" VHS tape. It is amazing how Carter will stop whatever he is doing to stare in amazement at the TV. The show is addictive as it throws the little rascal into a trance.

95th Percentile in Weight for a REASON!

We had a bit of a TENSE moment tonight. Amy had a powdered donut in her hand. In a flash Carter used his new TOOTH to bite off and inhale as much of it as possible. Dad panicked and did the roto-rooter with pinkey finger before the boy could send it down the pipe. Never a dull moment and needless to say Carter was plenty P.O'd that he had his sweet food taken away. Geez...

Sitting in this laundry basket is Carters new favorite pastime.
