OPRC August Open - Second Place Girls 18's Open

Laura took second place in a 2 and half hour match, 6-4, 3-6, 7-10 to a girl that 6-0, 6-0'd her last summer. Laura was sick losing such a close match but walked away feeling it was a decent accomplishment.

Sometimes You Have to Lose To Win

Laura managed to bring home hardware from an open USTA Kansas Tournament.  She surprised a ranked/ much older and big time player to advance, yet later lost to another older more seasoned opponent.  However...in the end by losing she won - worked out a 3rd place finish in the "big" bracket.

Grouchy cutting the grass

Admiring My New Semi

Carter and dad went to Winston I-35 speedway to fill some time while Laura and Mom were out of town at a tennis tournament. Carter did not like dust in face/loud noise made by the cars but hung in there for awhile.

Laura wins first place at the Hilltop Jr. Open!

Pond Fun

Carter walked over to Eric's pond and caught a big crawfish with big pinchers.  He laughed and played with it all afternoon.

Fun at VBS!

This was Carter's first year of Bible School.  The days Laura was there went much better, than the days she didn't make it.  She was a good big sister and went with Carter's class:) If Laura wasn't there, Carter was my assistant as I told the bible story for the day.  I think next year will be much better!!  He also made a good friend, Norman, who is in the blue shirt next to him in all the pictures.

More Weekend Pics

Trip to Kirksville

Our family went back to Kirksville this weekend/spent a couple of days at 1000 hills lake.   Jen and Josh Meyer was kind enough to take us back and forth to the floating docks.  Carter caught his first fish using dad's fly rod and everyone made it out of town safely.
