New Challenges
Our family has decided to move to Kearney, MO. Mike will serve the Kearney School District in the capacity of Director of Curriculum and I will be librarian at Dogwood Elementary (pictured). Dogwood is a K-5 neighborhood school. While the move presents new and exciting challenges, we will miss the Kirksville School District. We will leave behind some of the finest people we have ever met - so many dear friends. We are truly better people because of the time we spent in Kirksville.

Carter's Spends an Evening at the Pond
Carter hung out at the pond last night and watched bullfrogs from the bridge with mom. He fed fish with dad. Later he reached/pull back fast from a female hognose snake that voiced her displeasure toward him with a loud hiss before disappearing into leaves. All in all he had a good time in the 80 degree temperatures.

The End of Another Era
For the past 8 years Laura has been taking piano lessons weekly! She has often talked about quitting, but with our encouragement she has continued lessons. Mike put a little twist in things when he bought her a guitar a couple of months ago. She has now decided to quit piano and start guitar. For her piano finale, she played beautifully at her final recital. Then to make a perfect day better, she won the composition contest Mrs. Erickson was having for her students. Hers was chosen the best out of 15 compositions from students in 7th-12th grades. A Truman professor and the TSU Composition Majors were the judges. Yeah, Laura!! Thanks, Mrs. Erickson!
