Laura to Sign National Letter of Intent To Play Tennis in November

Laura has decided to sign an NLI to play for Northwest Missouri State University. Were happy she was recruited to sign during the NCAA early period. At the signing she will receive her NCAA athletic scholarship.

Visit to Drury

We made the trip to Drury University to see campus and meet the tennis coach/team. After reflecting Laura decided it was not the place for her. The trip to and from Springfield made for a long day of driving, but I guess this is part of the college search "ruling out/in" process ~

Laura Presents At Cerner

Laura recently presented a couple projects she and her team are working on while at Cerner Corporation. She presented an application that helps users self-assess concussions using a cell phone. After taking several visual and tactile tests the program indicates the probability a head injury has occurred. 

Another program communicates with a miniature high definition camera after users log in and allows them see and monitor their pet while the animal is receiving veterinary care. 

She is a great public speaker!

Grampy Gave Carter a Pellet Gun and...

...now he has a whole new outlook on completing nightly homework.  We made a deal with Carter that involves getting to shoot the pellet gun each night he does his homework. He is a brand new kid - no more fighting him to work - thank you Grampy.

District Success!

Laura played the district tennis tournament yesterday and won her way into the large school sectional playoffs Tuesday.

Laura currently works for the technology solutions company Cerner as part of an advanced professional study fellowship she won her junior year.  She leaves for work at 6:30a.m. and hits the rush our traffic - goes to bed at 8:30p.m.  Life in the real world is coming into focus for her.
