Annual Bird Nest in Our Propane Tank Cap

We have a blackbird or Magpie that nests each spring inside the cap of our propane tank. It lay eggs and raises it's young by entering/exiting through a hole located on top of the cover.  Despite Carter's daily visits to the nest, the bird still perseveres and successfully raises a clutch. Tonight, I decided to capture a couple pictures of Carter checking in on the little ones.

Kirksville Prom 2014

Laura and her friends decided she needed to attend the Kirksville Prom this year, so they found someone to ask her and the rest his history.  We also decided since Kate Middleton can wear a dress twice, so can Laura Bartig.  Early Saturday morning, Laura and I drove to KV and met her best friend, Audrey Wichmann, at her house.  Then Laura and I did her hair, with a little help from Laurel.  Dylan Lewis picked her up from Audrey's house for dinner at the lake.  Then they met me at Ashley Playle's house for pictures in Prom dresses. Finally it was Grand Marche and Prom.  They did all attend After Prom, breakfast back at the Wichmann's, and we were on the road again.  Fun weekend of seeing many good friends for both Laura and Amy!

Carter and new found friend Landon (next door neighbor) enjoyed the summer like temperatures today.  The pair played in Landon's new sandbox and took a pretend shot at driving dad race car.
