The End of an Era

Last week Laura led a show lamb for the last time.

Now we will wonder what will happen as it ends...

It is hard to let go of the memories, yet….. now Laura sets out to chart a new story. Showing sheep was the medium, but in the end the overall experience proved to be so much more than showmanship. In a game where winning is everything and competition fierce…showing sheep taught us all that determination and acting like a champ was the lesson to be learned. “Thinking” all of the time about whatever you do was the key and Laura will apply that to her life.

We will miss the exciting ride north to select each year’s new prospect… but not the frustration of keeping such a huge investment in healthy “ready to show” condition. Showing market lambs brought us together and at times tore us apart. Yesterday, our stock and equipment sold to a young hopeful little girl (one a lot like the little girl in the picture) so it is clear to see the final chapter has now closed. It’s an end of an era --
